Week 16 (11/11/2019 - 15/11/2019)

Task: Updating Chapter 5. As the assessor from FYP Exhibition has been giving opinion and comment on my project, so I put it in the recommendation of Chapter 5. Recommendations For the recommendation, this project need a lot of improvement even though the project was successfully operated. The sensor was very sensitive and it just measure the pulse rate straightaway without knowing the persons was not in resting position.         When observing the Serial Monitor, the heart rate measurement and track plays were displayed some error even though it played the right track. For example, the heart rate was 87 BPM and playing track 128. It should be on track 3. In the SD Card of MP3 Shield there were only four tracks. Some fix should be made in future so that it displayed the right track number with the heart rate measurement.         As for this project only play the audio of heart rate status, it should play the number of heart rate too. Blind...

Coding for ESP8266 NodeMCU also needed to send heart rate rate to the IoT. Since ThingSpeak has been selected for the IoT platform, the ThingSpeak library should be included in Arduino IDE. To connect the ESP8266 NodeMCU to ThingSpeak, the username and password of the Internet connection need to be the same so that the data can be transferred. In the coding, channel identification and “write API keys” should be filled so that ThingSpeak could be connected. Example of ThingSpeak Coding After edit the code, the heart rate data can be sent to the Thingspeak. The results were give a huge different as the pulse sensor was so sensitive. Real Time Heart Rate Measurement data displayed on ThingSpeak

Week 8 (9/9/2019 - 13/9/2019)

To set up ESP8266 with pulse sensor, a voltage regulator circuit need to be set up. In this diagram, a 10k ohm and 4.7k ohm resistor were used along with 10uF capacitor. Voltage regulator has been made in this circuit to make it operate within 3.3V. Figure and table below shows the connection between ESP8266 NodeMCU with pulse sensor, resistor and capacitor. To save the data, Parallax Data Acquisition (PLX-DAQ) has been used with the help of Microsoft Excel. As some blind persons were computer literate, they can save the heart rate by their own. Before start, download PLX-DAQ and enable Active X and Macro on Microsoft Excel. Then put the following code in the Arduino IDE; i. Serial.println("CLEARDATA"); This line required to clears sheet starting from row 2. ii. Serial.println("CLEARSHEET"); This line has to clears sheet starting from row 1. iii. Serial.println("LABEL,Date,Time,Heart Beat, millis"); It defines four columns named "Date", "Time", "Timer", "Heart Beat" and "millis". This part can be edited according to the data obtained. iv. Serial.println( (String) "DATA,DATE,TIME," + myBPM + "," + millis() + ",AUTOSCROLL" ); Getting the data from the sensor to be included in the Excel. v. Serial.println("CELL...

Week 6 (26/8/2019 - 30/8/2019)

As the EasyMP3 Shield has been stacked on the Arduino board, the coding of the EasyMP3 Shield should be included too. Simply download the coding library from the website of Cytron Technology Sdn Bhd or follow the same instruction for pulse sensor. Upon completion of EasyMP3 Shield library download, click on the example on CytronEasyMP3 and choose “PlayATrack”. From this coding, it has been provided the coding to play one and more track. To play this track, the MP3 files need to be added first in the SD Card which can be inserted on the SD Card slot of EasyMP3 Shield. Example of CytronEasyMP3 Coding
